In Occidental Mindoro, a native 29-year-old Mangyan named Shem and a 22-year-old American Girl Jenessa who are together.

Shem feels lucky to have a very beautiful American wife. His wife, Jenessa will soon give birth to their first child and because of that, her mother will travel from America to their house to see her daughter.
It is really amazing to see an American do some laundry using the traditional Poso. She is definitely an American housewife.
In 2007, Jenessa was one of the missionaries who went to the place to teach the native people. By that time, Jenessa noticed that Shem is really insisting to be in her class and was giving him a huge smile.
Jenessa spent 3 months with the natives and that was the moment Shem took the time to get to know her more.
After her mission Jenessa went back to America but they still communicated through letters.
Their wedding was simple. They exchanged their vows in front of their Mayor. There were no grand preparation.
Two different people, two different culture, sent forth by destiny to meet, accept and love each other. It is not about where you come from or what you are, when you fall in love, nothing else really matters.
