This 3-year-old Pinoy drummer boy named Martin Cruz of Iselin, New Jersey shows off his talent in drumming as he got the groove and speed of a great drummer in the making.

In an interview with Don Tagala of ABS-CBN North America Bureau, Martin’s father, Dennis Cruz said “Yan ang wish ko nga, nakikita ko sa kanya na someday sana maging best drummer siya like mga Phil Collins.”

According to the Dennis, his son was only 1 year and 3 months old when he learned his first drum beats.

Dennis is a Church band drummer and when he was rehearsing he noticed his son mimicking his movements.

"Sumasabay siya, with music, nakikita ko siya sa side, sabi ko sabay ah," he said.
So he let Martin try out the real thing and sat the little boy on his chair.

"Nanonood lang siya and then, tinetenga niya lang yung music and makikita mo mamaya he's playing... Sometimes nga mag-play ka ng music right away sinusundan na niya agad," the father of the 3-year-old said.

When Martin turned 2 and a half, he was already performing in churches in New Jersey, including different drum covers of worship songs filmed at Lodi, New Jersey. He also had his cover of Torete by Moonstar88.

"It is a gift, really, because everything we have really is a gift from God," Liam Panganiban, the parish priest, said.

Martin says there's one particular part of drumming that he likes best, the drum rolls.
The Cruz family is planning to enroll Martin in a professional drum school as soon as he is allowed to further improve his God-given gift.
