An old man with disability and his assistance dog rejected by Robinsons Place Dumaguete

report from World Fact News about an old man with disability and his assistance dog was not allowed to enter the premises of of Robinsons Place Dumaguete due to "no pet allowed policy".

However, Mr. Cohen's dog is not an ordinary dog. "Happy" is well trained and is a certified assistance dog.

Mark Cohen is a medically-certified person with disability. He is the Director of The International Institute for Assistance Dog Training.

Cohen suffers from a neurological disorder which requires him an assistance dog always on his side to alleviate the effects of his disability. This comes with variant symptoms similar to epilepsy, Parkinsosnism, and sensitivity to changes in the environment such as temperature and intensity of light.

This incident happened last Sunday, August 17,2014. The guard on duty refused him and his dog to enter the mall premises. The guard manning the mall entrance even closed the door when he tried to force his way to get in.

Mark and Happy laid in front of the entrance door of the mall as a sign of protest, waiting for someone from the management to address his concern.

Police authorities were called in that made the situation worse. They accused Cohen of public disturbance. He was handcuffed and was taken by the authorities for further investigation.

A week after, Mark Cohen sent a letter to the management of the Robinsons Place Dumaguete. This letter was also shared in public thru Hukad (Hulagway ug Kasikas sa Dumaguete).

Hello all, For your information, this is the chronological dialogue that I’ve been having with the management of Robinson’s Mall. I appreciate their kind consideration.

My message to Robinsons:

My name is Mark Cohen. Director of The International Institute for Assistance Dog Training I am a medically-certified Person with a Disability and have a neurological disorder which necessitates my having an Assistance Dog to mitigate that disability. I am not blind, I can drive a car, but do have variant symptoms similar to epilepsy, Parkinsonism, and sensitivity to changes in the environment such as temperature and intensity of light. At one moment I can have a blood pressure measurement of 180/120 and 10 minutes later 70/40, resulting in syncope. I have learnt to live with my disability, do take medication in a compliant manner, and would be unable to function if I did not have my certified Assistance Dog “Happy” as my companion.

On August 17th I was denied access to the Robinsons Mall in Dumaguete when I was with my certified Assistance Dog “Happy”. The security guards employed by Robinsons Mall called the Police claiming I was “disturbing the peace”. The Police took me to the Police station in handcuffs, and later released me without charging me with any offense. The Republic Acts 7227 and 9442, and Batas Pambansa Blg. 344, which are laws of the Government of the Philippines, do in fact allow me access with my Assistance Dog to your mall and to any public place or mode of transport.

The International Institute for Assistance Dog Training is an informal volunteer non-profit organization that strives to teach professionals, students and families how to train dogs to be Assistance Dogs for People with a Disability. We freely distribute information explaining the tasks and benefits of Assistance Dogs, and attempt as best we can to help to educate the public regarding national and international access laws for medically-certified Persons with a Disability that have certified Assistance Dogs or Guide Dogs that have been specifically trained to mitigate their disability.

We are currently producing a documentary on Rights of Access to Public Places and Transportation by People with a Disability (PWD) who have the need of an Assistance Dog to mitigate their disability. Since 2004 we have covered the countries of Canada, the U.S., Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama, Israel, Ecuador, Colombia and Chile, and are currently producing in the Philippines. I'm preparing some documentation for you.

On Monday August 25th you can visit my website, Facebook pages, and YouTube channel, all containing photos, videos, interviews, documentation with excerpts from the laws of the Philippines and other countries, as well as international laws that all protect the rights of access for Persons with a Disability in the presence of their certified Assistance Dogs.

I won't visit the mall again until I've spoken with you at your convenience, and when you've had time to review all the documentation and videos. I want to work with you to make my next visit to your mall a very positive event for Robinsons Mall, Persons with a Disability, and the citizens of the Philippines in general.

I arrived in the Philippines Thursday August 14th. I plan to retire here, and am very happy to be here. I have lived in many countries in Asia, South and Central America, the Middle east and North America, and the Philippines is my favorite. Thanks in advance for your kind consideration.

Any questions or concerns please let me know. Please say hello the security guard Wiley for me. He's a really nice guy.

However, the Robinsons' management strongly insisted that they do not discriminate against PWDs (Persons with Disabilities).

Robinsons Place Dumaguete posted their statement on Facebook.
"When he claimed to have medical condition that required an ‘assistance’ dog, the mall management offered all kinds of help including 1) arranging for the free use of WiFi facilities of a coffee shop; 2) providing a nurse that would assist him while he is inside the mall. But he refused all of these"

Rights of PWDs

On Rappler, it was discussed that assistance or guide dogs for PWDs are not acknowledged in the Philippines and no legal provisions for it.
Kung batas ang paguusapan, walang maling ginawa ang mall. Pero mali pa rin 'yung ginawa nung mall kasi walang consideration doon sa PWD. May papel naman na pinakita 'yung tao, explained by Ronel Del Rio ("promoter" of the "3rd Decade of Persons with Disabilities 2013-2023" chosen by the United Nations-Economic and Social Commission in the Asia Pacific.)

Though the country observes Republic Act No. 7277, the Magna Carta for Persons With a Disability, to protect the rights of access to all public places and any form of public transportation. But this law does not acknowledge the use of certified assistance dogs even though they are trained to help PWDs.

According to Del Rio, the incident happened to Cohen and Happy pointed out that the law protecting the rights of PWDs need to be updated.

"We are asking for the amendment of the law (because) it is crafted only from the medical point of view," Del Rio emphasized.

Who wants a bear hug? A strong, tight embrace as if being hugged by a bear? How about a lion hug? Yeah, a lion hug; a hug from a lion. Can’t believe? Watch this video and witness a man got a very warm embrace from a big lion.

Children are often scared of lions when visiting zoo. They can’t even get near the fence. But this guy seems not satisfied to just stare at the animal or just feed it while outside the fence.

As seen in the video, the lion is too excited as the guy might be its breakfast. But when the guy opened the door of its cage, the lion leapt at his friend for a hug. The man cannot carry the lion so they cuddle on the sand.

Lions are often called the ‘king of beast’ as they are used to symbolize courage.
It was a totally heart-melting scene.

You Won’t Believe What This Little Boy Said When He Found Out His Mom is Pregnant

A mother of two decided to announce to her kids that she was expecting another baby, but her son’s response wasn’t what she anticipated.

cantbelieve
Little Andre starts by asking, “What were you thinking? Why you have to um..just get another baby? This is exasperating…because you just have two, so why do you want to get another baby and replace one of your babies if there’s too much!”
He also exclaimed, “This doesn’t make any sense! This makes no sense! Because if it makes sense than you would just have two babies and keep loving them forever, not having another baby between us!”

Find out how his mom responds by watching the video below.

screenshot photo from youtube
She is Alisah Bonaobra. There is something in her voice that would make everyone breathless.

Alisah gave a different quality as she performed the hit song Let It Go of Disney. It can be seen on the video that a lot of people were watching Alisah. They even stopped and finished the song because her voice is very pleasant to the ears. It is like a meloady that soothes you.

According to Alisah or also known as Yssa, she was just walking in the mall with her mother when they suddenly decided to sing in AstroVision whereas you can sing in the Videoke. She even mentioned that the guy who took this video was just passing by and when he heard her voice he stopped and filmed the whole song.

This video of her singing inside the mall was taken by a Danish Bassist named Henrik Jensen.

Henrik said in the description of the video that he and his wife met Alisah and they were really mesmerized buy the amazing talent that this girl has.

They are also looking forward that any record company should get her a contract because of her wonderful voice.

Teleportation caught on CCTV camera

Teleportation, or Teletransportation, is the theoretical transfer of matter or energy from one point to another without traversing the physical space between them. It is a common subject of science fiction literature, film, and television.

In this video, you will see a person who seemed to have a teleportation skill. Many people believed that this teleportation video is real, and some believed that the video is just for marketing gimmick, that's why the uploader of this video decided to download all the different videos from youtube to have a clear comparison of all the videos.

This video shows the clear comparison of all the videos, and you will see that a hard sub was put by the ones claiming that the video is theirs and it's just for marketing gimmick, but what this uploader found out is really interesting because he also found a video who looks more original because it has no hard sub or anything, proving that the video is not for marketing gimmick but perhaps a real CCTV footage.

Now, it's up to you to decide. Please comment below and let us know what you think of this video.

Giant 700 pound 98 feet snake Caught in a Lake of North Carolina

A giant 700 pound 98 feet snake was reported to be pulled from the river of North Carolina in America. Due to this, the locals especially the authorities were alarmed and went through the missing people list since this huge snake could possibly eaten a human.

snake caught in North Carolina hoax or a fact?

Is this even possible? Or is it again hoax news in order to get attention online?

Based on the report posted in epicadamwildlife.com, this “man eating snake” and the story behind it were hoax. Although the image looks very real, perfect camera angle manipulation is the one to be blamed why this snake looks much larger than its original size. Plus, the tractor background also made the gigantic looking snake look as it is.

Based on the report, the photo was originated in South East Asia particularly in Indonesia due to the snake’s appearance and skin pattern and was later found to be a python. The “giant python” was accidentally caught by construction workers during Thanksgiving near the village of Belinyu City.
The construction workers that discovered the snake were surprised when they saw it after knocking down a large dead tree in the area where the snake was sleeping inside. Unfortunately, the python died and was buried immediately.

Due to the sudden incident, no other photos were uploaded online. That’s why; it is still a mystery of how long and huge this “giant python” is.
Apart from this, there are also other reported cases of giant snakes caught in the region of south east asia but not as long and big like the giant snakes or anacondas in the movies. On the other hand, the largest snake discovered by man as of now is a reticulated python named Medusa living in Kansas City in the US.

Filipino talents are really hailed around the globe. Whether it may be singing, dancing or acting, name it all, Filipinos have almost all talents that can be proud of. video of young drummer in the philippines

This 3-year-old Pinoy drummer boy named Martin Cruz of Iselin, New Jersey shows off his talent in drumming as he got the groove and speed of a great drummer in the making.

In an interview with Don Tagala of ABS-CBN North America Bureau, Martin’s father, Dennis Cruz said “Yan ang wish ko nga, nakikita ko sa kanya na someday sana maging best drummer siya like mga Phil Collins.”

According to the Dennis, his son was only 1 year and 3 months old when he learned his first drum beats.

Dennis is a Church band drummer and when he was rehearsing he noticed his son mimicking his movements.

"Sumasabay siya, with music, nakikita ko siya sa side, sabi ko sabay ah," he said.
So he let Martin try out the real thing and sat the little boy on his chair.

"Nanonood lang siya and then, tinetenga niya lang yung music and makikita mo mamaya he's playing... Sometimes nga mag-play ka ng music right away sinusundan na niya agad," the father of the 3-year-old said.

When Martin turned 2 and a half, he was already performing in churches in New Jersey, including different drum covers of worship songs filmed at Lodi, New Jersey. He also had his cover of Torete by Moonstar88.

"It is a gift, really, because everything we have really is a gift from God," Liam Panganiban, the parish priest, said.

Martin says there's one particular part of drumming that he likes best, the drum rolls.
The Cruz family is planning to enroll Martin in a professional drum school as soon as he is allowed to further improve his God-given gift.

What a miracle! Boy survives after running down by a car. Watch the video

Try imagining someone being run down by a car. What would be the first thing that pops up your mind? Maybe blood stains all over the place; a body; or maybe some patrol cars coming over? What about, a ninja move? Or a miracle, maybe? Yes, it can all be a possibility.

This young boy from China unbelievably survived a rather grave accident. Watch the video to see how he did this.

The video was surveillance footage of the Chinese boy getting unharmed even after a car accidentally run him down.  It’s like he did a ninja move or something magical between the car’s wheels as he immediately stood up after the car passed him acting like nothing happened. This incredible incident has been taking its fame in many social hubs today.

Xiao Hao, the six-year old lad who managed to stay alive was playing by himself in the middle of a street in Jining city when a red SUV ran him over. This was according to Shandong TV station, a publically-owned TV station in China. Based on the footage, the incident happened on August 20 at around 10:51 am.

However, the boy still got bruises in his arms. It was noticed by his family so they asked to see the CCTV footage in the block near where Xiao Hao was playing and there they discovered the event.

Maybe, we can call this a miracle for the boy or a great luck. But this serves as a warning to all children not to play in the middle of the street and to stay safe because miracles will not always be with us.

Crazy Guy Runs Into Outback Tornado To Take SELFIE. Watch The Shocking Video

The video of this man courageously taking a selfie next to a desert tornado goes viral online.

hurricane selfie video goes viral

Entitled as Crazy Guy Runs into Outback Tornado to Take Selfie and uploaded by Terry Tufferson who happens to be the man in the video gains almost 3 million hits in youtube in less than two weeks.
First uploaded on August 19, this crazy yet popular video received a lot of criticisms from the netizens. Before anything else, it can be seen from the footage that Terry Tufferson waited first in his car as the tornado approaches. Just a few meters before the tornado hit his position, he bravely came closer to the monster and took a video of himself few inches next to it. Realizing that the tornado might kill him on the spot, Terry ran for his life and secured himself inside his car. Still, the footage kept on running and documented how a tornado looks like inside it. Luckily, Terry Tufferson’s car and him didn’t suffer from serious damages.

Well, based on Hollywood films, it is very impossible for someone to come very closer to the tornado without blowing away or sucking the person or anything inside it. That’s why many netizens doubted that the footage is real. One netizen commented about the fact that tornados don’t form when the sky is clear and blue as seen in the video. While some commended Terry’s talent in doing video editing.
Despite many netizens doubted and find the video fake, still many gave this Terry’s footage thumbs up compared to thumbs down. Anyway, at the end it’s up to the viewers to decide whether to believe anything that they see online and express what they feel about it.

For you, is this real or fake? Feel free to post your comments below.
