Why Did Creator Dong Nguyen Take Down Flappy Bird ?

If you’re enjoying the simple yet addicting game in the name of ‘Flappy Bird’, unfortunately,  this popular android and apple iOS game is set to bid it’s goodbye in the cyber world in less than 24 hours.
The tweet of the Flappy Bird’s Vietnamese creator, Dong Nguyen, shocked the public by announcing this morning (February 9, 2014) that he’ll be taking down ‘Flappy Bird’ 22 hours from now. With the success of this game, what made him think to remove the app in the app store?

Flappy Bird’ won’t be flying anymore

Together with his announcement, he tweeted that he can’t take this anymore. Maybe he can’t take the criticisms anymore due to the enormous hate that he received ever since ‘Flappy Bird’ started its flight? Or maybe he can’t take the sudden fame and success that he’s gaining now? But the sure this is that it is not anything related to legal issues as he twitted. He also says that he’s not interested in selling the game and will continue to make games.

WHAT ARE THE REAL REASON WHY DONG NGUYEN REMOVED FLAPPY BIRD IN THE PLAYSTORE ?

Digging deeper to the issue, some critiques allege that he has employed boots to improve the game’s standings in the app store. The creator’s answer to this issue as posted in his twitter account: “It doesn’t matter. Don’t you think? If I did fake it, should Apple let it live for months?”  Also, according to British publication, The Independent, Nguyen began receiving abusive messages from the users. Despite of this, Nguyen is bringing in $50,000 per day from app advertising revenues as some reports say.

But according to some internet marketing experts, the real reason why Nguyen take down Flappybird to online market  is because  he wants to make more money from it. They called this strategy as Guerilla Marketing.

the mechanics of Flappy bird is a very simple. This  game swept the game aficionados worldwide due to its user friendly and not-so-complicated game controls because, all you need is to tap the screen of your smart phone to make your ‘Flappy bird’ fly and keeping it alive by surpassing the obstacles.

Dont worry Flappy bird fans,  If you still want to play that game, There are still sites where you can download Flappy bird.  Or just play the , ‘Flappy Bird’ inspired  game called the ‘Squishy Bird’.

Although, there’s still no clear reason of Nguyen’s intention of making ‘Flappy Bird’ to land down from its peak of success, we hope that this game developer will mean his words of continuing to create games that will entertain us because, with this modern world, our smart phones are one of the things that we’ll turn to in order to kill our boredom.
